We urge a NO vote on Unfair Props 1, 2, & 3

Then mail or put in ballot drop box by February 13!

From Redmond Reporter Cost letter Other districts choose fair approach.

The Lake Washington School District is asking voters to approve three ballot issues Propositions 1, 2 and 3 on your ballot that, if passed, will contribute to significantly higher property taxes for home owners, renters and local businesses. We urge you to vote NO on all three of these proposals.

We believe the district's current tax proposals spend too much, do not give proper local tax relief for the millions in new revenue coming to LWSD from the new State Fully Funding of Basic Education, and badly fail to recognize that local home owners and renters simply have limits on how many tax increases they can afford.

Local property taxes have been increasing steadily in 2017 and 2018 with substantial increases from the Sound Transit 3 property tax (yes, in addition to the ST3 sales tax increase and the ST3 vehicle license tab excise tax increase, there was an ST3 property tax increase), increased King County storm water fees, and the largest impact (effective January 1, 2018) is the increased State Property tax to fully fund Basic Education. Most taxpayers will not see that increase until their 2018 tax bill arrives just AFTER this levy election. Renters will see the tax increases passed through in the form of rent increases.

When your ballot arrives, Please vote NO to LWSD Propositions 1, 2, and 3. Then mail or put in ballot drop box by February 13!

These Propositions are the wrong plan at the wrong time.
